2024 Salford 5500 Applicator 5500

Built for durability and simple to operate, the 5500 pull-type air boom applicator is ideal for commercial rental operations and medium-capacity application of fertilizer, herbicide, seed or micronutrients. The 5500 features self-leveling booms made of stainless steel with break-away boom tips for added protection. The 40’ booms are calibrated to deliver uniform product placement across the entire. The easy to calibrate ground-driven metering option comes with a 60-speed gear box that is adjustable in 5% increments to ensure accurate metering. Built with a stainless steel hopper and components, the 5500 guarantees years of low maintenance operation.

The ground-driven mechanical gearbox uses 60 different gear ratios for metering rates at 5% increments. Rates as low as 5 pounds per acre for herbicide application and as high as 500 pounds of fertilizer per acre at 5 miles per hour.

The 5500 allows for manual half-width shut-off on either side, minimizing waste and reducing input costs.

The 40-foot booms on the Valmar 5500 are self-leveling for accurate application in rolling terrain where even granular distribution can be a challenge. The booms also feature break-away tips to protect the boom integrity when an obstacle is struck in the field. Manual fold booms are standard on the 5500 with the option to upgrade to hydraulic fold booms.
