History - Growing Together Since 1918

In 2018, Haug Implement Co. celebrated 100 Years of Growing Together! From roots in Pennock and Kerkhoven to today’s Willmar and Litchfield locations, Haug Implement Co. has been growing families, crops, friendships, and business relationships…since 1918. For four generations, the Haug Implement Co. family has been thankful for the opportunity to support Agriculture in West Central Minnesota, for our dedicated employees, and for our loyal customers.

Haug Implement Co., a fourth-generation, family-owned dealership, began in 1918 when Gunder Haug started managing a farmer owned cooperative in Pennock. Gunder later purchased the business, renaming it Haug Implement Co. Donald Haug, Sr, son of Gunder, purchased the business in 1955. He relocated to Kerkhoven in 1960. Donald Haug, Jr. (Butch), joined the firm on a full time basis in 1964, but had worked there since he was young. In 1972, Donald, Sr. and Butch built a new facility and moved the growing business to its current location on Highway 12, east of Willmar. Butch became the owner and general manager in 1980. Paal Haug, great grandson of Gunder, joined the business on a full time basis in 1992 and now serves as the general manager. Always a growing business, Haug Implement Co. has developed the Willmar location over the past decades, making several building additions. In 1996, Haug Implement Co. expanded into the Litchfield area by purchasing the former Litchfield Implement. In 2006, the dealership purchased the assets of Quality Power & Lawn of Willmar, acquiring the John Deere Lawn and Garden equipment business for the Willmar area.

Today, 100 plus years after Gunder Haug began his small establishment, Haug Implement Co. of Willmar & Litchfield is owned and managed by third and fourth generation owners. The dealership is operated by knowledgeable, hard-working professionals in the Parts, Sales, Service, Administrative, Integrated Solutions, and IT Departments. Haug Implement Co. is committed to the John Deere brand, selling and supporting the full line of John Deere Agricultural Equipment including Tractors, Combines, Ag Implements and Precision Ag Products. Haug Implement Co. also offers America’s favorite brand of small to mid-sized equipment such as John Deere Lawn & Garden Tractors, Compact Utility Tractors, Commercial Mowers, and Gator Utility Vehicles. In addition, the dealership handles John Deere Skid Steers, Mini Excavators, and Tractor/Loader/Backhoes. Haug Implement Co. stocks an exhaustive selection of Genuine John Deere Parts and Attachments, invests in precision tools and technology, and runs a full fleet of mobile service support vehicles.
